Obituary of Allen L Porter
Allen L. Porter, 95, of Little Canada, MN. Allen entered WWII at age 18, saw the Battle of the Bulge, received a Bronze Star for heroic service while clearing mines, and later worked as a civil engineer in construction. He was an intrepid adventurer who found joy in exploring the natural world with family and friends. He could build a good fire. His cheerful enthusiasm, gentle understanding and tolerance, and genuine kind caring made him beloved by all. He led many children, friends, and relatives on adventures by ski, foot, bike and canoe. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his map-reading impeccable. His grace and skill on skis was legendary. He almost always got everyone home by dusk.
