Obituary of Barbara Jean Olson (Anderson)

Barbara Jean Olson (Anderson), 82 of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 15, 2020 at Benedictine Health Center. She was born in Duluth, MN on September 22, 1937 to Dillmer “Slim” Anderson and Cecelia Bubacz Anderson. She was a Denfeld High School Graduate, class of ’56. She married Richard Carl Olson on June 16, 1957. They raised their family of three children in Piedmont Heights. Barb worked for 24 years at the St. Luke’s Hospital Coffee Shop. In her free time, she enjoyed doing wordfinds, camping, blueberry picking, shopping, annual trips to Florida, making cut out sugar cookies, and was a “coupon queen”.

Barb was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, son Mark Olson, Sister Joan (Patrick) Brennan, and special nephew Scott Brennan.

Survived by daughters, Gloria (Larry) Allan, and Linda (Al) Eickstadt, both of Duluth. Grandchildren, Jeremy (Sam) Allan of Cottage Grove, MN, Amanda (Justin) Allan of Duluth, Delani (Andrew) Cole of Mankato, MN, Kale Eickstadt of Duluth, and Great Grandchild Hunter Allan of Cottage Grove, MN as well as 3 new great grandchildren all due in June. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews and many special friends.

At Mom’s request, a Farewell Party will be held at a later date.
