Marcia Sapp

Obituary of Marcia K Sapp

Marcia (58), loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, “favorite” daughter in-law, aunt, cousin and friend, with her husband by her side, passed away on April 7th, 2020. In the four weeks between learning of her cancer and her passing, the outpouring of grief from friends, family, parents and coworkers will attest to how LOVED she was. She was taken from us much too soon, leaving an extraordinary hole in our lives.

Marcia was born in 1961 in Arlington, MN to Orville and Gladys ZumBerge. While she was married for almost 30 years to her best friend Wally, everyone knows her greatest joy was raising her two boys (Jacob and Adam) along with her four-legged kids (Kelly, Rudy, Jena, and Josie) .

She was proudest of her sons; Jacob (Nicole) and his sense of humor, Adam (Kristy) and her grandkids (Connor, Lily, and Maisie). Being a grandma - from pushing her “grandbabies” on the swing and doing puzzles at the kitchen table to searching for monsters in the backyard - was her greatest pleasure.

Marcia and Wally (Jack) loved to travel, it didn’t matter if it was up north to the lake or their many trips to Europe. She used to say that the only reason she worked, was to afford her vacation lifestyle. She loved the long plane rides and it was incredible to see how many books she could read there and back! She was an avid Minnesota sports fan; both professional and her beloved Gophers, along with weekend mornings watching Liverpool and the Premier League.

Marcia worked in childcare, both as a teacher and administrator, her whole life. EVERYBODY knew Marcia. She loved all ages – from newborns to 106-year-olds. She had a way of building relationships with the children, residents, staff and families. Along with family she leaves behind hundreds of children that loved her, both from work and those from her son’s sports teams. She was a MOM to all, a listener, an advice giver, a leader, and a friend. She was the rock that people leaned on when they needed a shoulder.

With life measured in moments then Marcia’s, though too short, was full and amazing. Her energy, enthusiasm and love will never be replaced. She would want you to know to get your yearly physical. DO NOT PUT IT OFF!

Due to the current COVID-19 guidelines, a memorial service will not be held at this time. To honor her love of horses and children, memorials can be made to We Can Ride, PO Box 463, Maple Plain, MN 55359 or any charity that helps save dogs.
