Obituary of Eugene Alan Frost

Eugene Alan Frost, 64, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away April 12th, 2020, with his wife by his side at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. He was taken from us too soon due to complications from cancer, leaving an extraordinary void in our lives.

Gene was born December 21, 1955 in Duluth, MN to Jack and Faye (Haparanta) Frost. He received his diploma from Central High School in 1973. He was married for over 45 years to his best friend Georgine (Solem) Frost. Together they raised two children and he was very involved with their sports. He was an owner of Lakewood Masonry for 40 years. Some of his favorite moments in business were building the shop and the visits from those who stopped by.

He loved spending time with family as well as hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Bulldog hockey and enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. Gene looked forward to his annual vacations with his wife and Wendy and Alex, as well as his annual trip to the hunting shack.

Gene was preceded in death by his sister Jacqueline. He will be sadly missed by his wife Georgine, children Jay (Megan) and Sarah (Joe) Gardepy, five grandkids Marisa, Matthew, Aubrey, Clara and Jack, parents Jack and Faye, brothers Dale (Debbie) and Brian (Cindy), sisters Cheryl (Stuart) Anderson and Nancy (Scott) and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the current coronavirus guidelines, a memorial service will not be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sandra J. Schulze Hope Lodge: 411 Second Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
