Obituary of James L. Jordan

Jordan, James L. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, James L. Jordan of Excelsior, MN on March 31, 2020 at the age of 87. He is survived by the love of his life, Lois (married for 64 years), as well as his 3 children, Scott Jordan of Bay City, WI, Susan (Doug) Porter of Edina, Steve (Claudia) Jordan of Scottsdale, AZ, as well as his 7 grandchildren, David, Talana, Matt, Brandon, Kaderick, Tavek, Jaddison, plus nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Vera Jordan, and his brother Samuel Jordan. Jim was born Sept 9, 1932 in Minneapolis. He served in the Korean War, and later worked for Owens Corning, Hennepin Technical Institute, and the SBA. One of his biggest accomplishments was owning Jordan Ford on Highway 7 with his brother Sam. Jim loved to play tennis and golf, play jazzy tunes on the piano, and socialize with many friends. He loved driving his boat around Lake Minnetonka, spending winters in the Arizona sun, and working at the cabin in Wisconsin which he built with his brother and dad. Jim was a kind and generous spirit who volunteered at the Mayo Clinic, served on the Relate board, and was a long-standing member of St. Luke Presbyterian Church. Jim was deeply loved and will be missed by all. A celebration of his life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the research branch of Alzheimers Association (alz.org/partthecloud).
