Harry F. Hauck, Jr.

Born in Minneapolis, February 20, 1925 to Harry Hauck, Sr. and Eleanor Iverslie.

At 14 he delivered newspapers, attended Patrick Henry High School, traded his band uniform for military khakis June 1943 flying the B-24 Bomber, graduated June 1948 from the Minneapolis School of Art.

For 10 years he worked for agencies, started his own business in 1958, continued for 50 years. Hauck & Associates, Inc. designed packages for General Mills, Land O’Lakes and others, including illustrations and lettering. Picture the color, design, precision it takes to create packages for the grocer’s shelf, Trix, Lucky Charms, Count Chocula, Hamburger Helper, Country Morning Blend.

He married Coleen Wylie in 1949 and began a family, children all artistic and creative from the start. Divorced in 1970, he married Darleen Simpson in 1975, her 3-year-old daughter Tara immediately loved him.

Harry planned, sketched details and completed major carpentry projects for our home. He was in the top 100 National Arts for the Parks 1988 painting competition that toured the U.S. He loved the outdoors, duck and goose hunting, fishing, hiking.

Harry lived fully for 95 years passing away comfortably at home April 5, 2020. We will miss this loving, funny, humble and generous man.

He was preceded in death by parents Harry and Eleanor Hauck, brother Richard Hauck.

Survived by wife of 45 years Darleen, daughters Linda Chryssomallis (Yorgo), Carolyn Hauck (Roger Nordstrom), Tara Ehnes (Scott), son Fred Hauck, grandchildren Alexi (Grace), Michael, Ellie.
