Obituary of Kathryn Ehrhard

Ehrhard, Kathryn The gates of heaven opened wide and welcomed a new angel. Kathryn Pringle Ehrhard died on April 6th, 2020 at Friendship Village, Bloomington, MN. She was born in East Orange, N.J. on October 9th, 1923 to John Pringle and Lillian Fitzgerald. She graduated from Maryknoll of the Oranges Catholic School in 1940, then attended St. Elizabeth College in Convent Station, N.J. She married Edward R. Ehrhard on April 23, 1944 when he was home on leave from the Aleutian Islands during W.W.II. They raised two daughters and lived a charmed life in Chatham, N.J. Her hi-jinks and themed cocktail parties, complete with costumes, were legendary in her neighborhood. She had an abundance of gifts: golfer, equestrian, archer, figure skater, ballroom dancer, interior designer and Irish story teller. She and her husband traveled for business all over the world and they experienced the graciousness of business associates from many cultures. They retired to Ft. Myers, FL in 1985. After her husband died in 1998 and her daughter Deborah (Tim) Ross in 2000, she moved to Minnesota to be near family and forged many wonderful new friendships here. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Jeremiah) Kearney; grandson, Sean(Elizabeth) Kearney and gr. grandchildren, Caitlin and Kyle of Edina; granddaughter, Erin (Joel) DeClark and gr. granddaughter, Gabrielle of West Linn, OR. She loved her family more than words can express. Her lifelong passion was trips into N.Y. City to attend Broadway shows; her first at age 5 and her last at age 90. Her oft repeated truism was "You are in charge of your own happiness" and this she exemplified every day of her life as she brought joy to all she met and was beloved by her family. Memorial at a future date.
