Obituary of Duane Gary Baumgartner

Duane “Duie” Baumgartner passed away peacefully at age 80, on Thursday, March 5, 2020 with his loving wife, Judith Erickson-Baumgartner, of 58 years at his side.

Duane was a hardworking man, who acquired numerous skills in his working career and was a true craftsman. In his later years after retiring, he enjoyed spending time curating his beautiful flower gardens and sharing them with those who loved him. Duane loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and spending time with his eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; infant son, Joseph; his parents, LaVern and Alice; siblings, Ronnie Baumgartner, David Baumgartner, and Bonnie Teske.

Duane is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children, Christopher Baumgartner, Pam (Jocko) Fairchild, Patty (Bruce) Connor, Jodi (Brad) Anderson, Scott Baumgartner, and Jackie (Jeff) McCorison; siblings, Linda Anderson, Debbie (Steve) Chesney, Dean (Theresa) Baumgartner, and Randy (Peggy) Baumgartner; grandchildren, Kristina, Carly and Ryan Connor, Derek, Abbie (Kutter) and Alysha Anderson, Kylie and Katie McCorison; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Gathering of family and friends will take place from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service Thursday, March 12 in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth.
