Obituary of Paula MARIE Meagher
Paula Marie Meagher, 85, of Duluth and longtime resident of Morgan Park, died at the North Shore Estates surrounded by family.
She was born January 26, 1935 to John and Helen Corrigan, in St. Paul, MN. Paula attended Morgan Park High School and was always proud of being a majorette leader. She married Richard “Pickle” Meagher April 11, 1953 and celebrated 52 years of marriage. They raised five children in Morgan Park.
She was a strong Retail Clerk’s Union member, working at Shopper’s City and later retiring from Walgreens. Paula was very supportive of her children and grandchildren’s sporting and school events. She was a wonderful grandmother who was instrumental in helping to raise them to become successful individuals.
Paula enjoyed dancing, playing cards, watching old movies, family gatherings and socializing with life-long friends. She was a fan of Elvis and the Minnesota Twins.
She was a member of the St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church, her faith was an important part of her life
Paula was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; sister, Betty Marmon; and son-in-law, Rick Schiff.
She is survived by daughters, Linda, Cheryl Allison and Dr. Jamie Meagher; sons, Steve and Mark (Laurie); nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Banny, Rashaad, Michael, Molly, Jake, Sam, Casey and Ricky; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Aliyah, Abby, Mya, Isaiah, Layla; her sister, Colleen Smith; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation 11:00 a.m. until the 12 noon memorial service Saturday, March 14th at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 610 99th Ave., West. Deacon Lyle Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
