Obituary of David Bjorlin

David (Moonie) Bjorlin, 67, of Duluth passed away on February 23, 2020 at Solvay Hospice House with friends and family by his side. Dave was born in Duluth to Gordon and June Bjorlin. He graduated from Denfeld High School in 1970 and went on to get a 2 yr degree in auto mechanics from Duluth Vo-Tech. Dave worked for the DM&IR railroad and retired after 41 years. He kept in touch with his railroad buddies after retirement. Dave loved spending time playing cribbage and scrabble with his mother June. He loved children and some say Dave was a big kid at heart himself just like his father Gordy.

Dave always had a story to share about family, friends, work and of course cars. He had a deep interest in and spent many years collecting and restoring cars and spending time with his car buddies. Dave was an active member in the Cruise for Cancer. He also was a member of several car clubs in the surrounding areas.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Solvay Hospice House for the wonderful care and support Dave received. The family would also like to thank his family and friends who took the time to spend with Dave through this difficult time, it really meant the world to him. Dave was known for his generous heart, great sense of humor and of course the gift to gab. He touched many lives and will be missed dearly.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and June. He is survived by his sister, Susan Barber; nephew, Adam Barber, niece, Andrea Barber. A great niece and nephews, cousins as well as many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
