Lance was the most influential teacher I ever knew. The last 2 years he taught I spent a lot of time in his classes, trying to soak up any information I could get. He had a special was of explaining things that made the information accessible to everyone.
He was also the first teacher I had that taught me like an adult. He didn’t micromanage your class. He didn’t give lectures or condescending speeches.
And most of all, he was brilliant, funny and easy to talk to. Most of my memories of him are of him laughing. Our experiences together will be etched in my memory. And I still strive to be the type of person he’d be proud of. I know all who knew him would say the same.
