Obituary of James (Jim) Theodore Angelo
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Theodore Angelo of Superior, WI age 88 on February 25th, 2020 at 5:15 PM. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his three children, Jean (Khaled) Kathib Elgin, SC, Ted (JeriAnn) St Paul, MN, and Jim (Jane) Savage, MN, his brother Angelo (Meni) Angelopolous Montreal, Canada, sister Mina Angelopolous Athens, Greece as well as 6 grandchildren, Dimitri, Alexandra, Nick, Calvin, Georgia, and Elena. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his wife Marie on January 6th 2019.
He was born October 15th 1931 in Ahladini, Greece the son of Theodore and Evyania (Bostas) Angelopoulos. He was one of 7 siblings with 3 brothers (Alex, Nontas, and Angelo) and 3 sisters (Katina, Georgia, and Mina).
James married Marie Moretto on October 14th, 1959 and they were happily married for 59 years. He always said he was proud to be born a Greek citizen, he served in the Greek army during the Korean War, and even more proud to become an American citizen on September 20th 1963.
James worked for the University of Wisconsin Superior for many years and was happy to call Superior home. He loved spending time with family and friends, camping, gardening, hunting, fishing, and walking his dogs.
We, his children, will greatly miss this wonderful man. He was a role model for living life with great honor and integrity and loved and cared for us in so many ways. We love you dad and are greatly saddened at your passing, yet immensely happy that you are now with your beloved wife. Until we meet again, know that we all love you.
The family will hold a ceremony at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Duluth on Friday, March 6th. Visitation is at 2:00 and the Memorial Service is at 3:00. Friends and family are welcome to join us in the celebration of his amazing life.
