Obituary of Mary Ruth Rennie

Mary Ruth Rennie passed away on Monday February 24th at Bayshore Nursing Home. Ruth was born in Kalamazoo, MI on Feb 9th, 1930 to Charles A and Mary (Unterbrink) Bensen. She grew up in St. Paul, MN moving to Duluth 22 years ago.

Ruth married Raymond H Enke in 1950 and had two sons Rodney S. and Phillip E. Ruth had many occupations, including professional cake decorating, teaching knitting, doctor’s assistant, paralegal with Oppenheimer Law, office manager for furniture stores in Kansas City and Detroit, real estate and property management.

Her first husband died in 1971 after a long illness. While working in Detroit area she met and married James Charles (Chuck) Rennie in 1981. Chuck passed away in 1989, after which Ruth returned to St. Paul and then migrated to Duluth in 1997. After moving to Duluth Ruth served as a Commissioner at the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands and her brother, Charles Ronald Bensen. She is survived by her two sons, Rodney S. (Sandy) Enke of St. Paul, Phillip E. (Bridget) Enke of Duluth, six grandchildren, two step grandsons and several great grandchildren.

Per the deceased wishes, there will be no visitation and burial will be private.
