Mr. Ellertson was my high school Literature teacher. I remember him being kind and patient. I especially enjoyed our conversations about the books I'd read. He had a perspective I wouldn't have received from discussions with my peers. My sincere condolences to his family, he was a very special person.

I owe this man my love of literature and my ability to write a decent sentence! I took an independent literature class with him my junior and senior years and summer between as I recall to write that darn term paper! I had read and discussed every book needed to prepare for college lit and probably beyond. From War and Peace to For Whom the Bell Tolls, to The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire (the only book I could not get through) to My Antonia. I had not been a strong reader up until that time, and I can't remember the first book he had me read, but it was the right one because I was hooked from that point on and I am still some 45 years later an very active reader. Rest In Peace Mr. Ellertson. "There are better things ahead than any we leave behind." By C. S. Lewis.

Mr. Ellertson was my Lit teacher in high school. I was always amazed at his knowledge of every book in his room. He knew it cover to cover. There was no bluffing your way through a book. He would know if you had really read it or not! I remember him telling us how he read East of Eden in one day! Amazing. He definitely instilled in me a love for reading. He encouraged us to read quality literature and not just "super thrillers". Thank You Mr. Ellertson for encouraging me to read good literature. I still love it and read every day.
