Shirley M. Gunderson, age 89 of Roseville MN, passed away January 20, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Robert; her parents Wylie and Mabel Van Blaricom; brother Wesley Van Blaricom and sister Judith Van Blaricom. She is
survived by son, Kenneth; daughters Lori LaVanier (Jerome), Diane Svard (Trygve); 3 grandchildren Alex, Erik, Karli; brother
Wallace Van Blaricom.
Shirley worked at Montgomery Ward and State Farm before marrying Bob (celebrated 50 years together), and having
3 children. She was a winning pitcher for fast-pitch softball both in high school and for St. Paul teams and appeared in
State tournaments, earning the nickname “Slugger", as well as "Shirl the Pearl" from her friends. She loved playing cards, bowling, fishing, cheering on the MN Vikings and Twins and making lefse for family holidays. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be dearly missed.
