Obituary of Mary Elnora Holbrook

Died unexpectedly, but peacefully at her residence at REM in Superior, January 25th, 2020.  

Mary was born in Idaho, Ohio on July 20th, 1935. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin Grant and Verna Marie Louderback (Leeth), siblings, Grant (Dean), Francis Tackett (Harold), Leona and Jim, son, Steven Louderback, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Schulze, and son-in-law, Raleigh Andrews (Lynn). She is survived by her sons Norman Rader (Della) of Superior, and Billy Wilson of Waldron, AR, and daughter Lynn Andrews (Louis) of Superior, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mary grew up in southern Ohio during the Great Depression. After high school, she graduated from God’s Bible School in Cincinnati, OH. She played the accordion, harmonica and piano, and had a beautiful alto voice.

She moved to AZ in the 60s, where she co-owned a restaurant with her brother Grant. She then moved to Washington State, with her late husband, Bill Wilson, where she raised her two youngest children. She was an avid gardener, and raised a huge garden. She canned hundreds of jars of fruits and vegetables.

She took up painting at age 80. She lived life through the paintings, dreaming and painting scenery as she saw it through her mind’s eye. 

She loved the Lord and loved to tell others all about heaven and the Bible. She evangelized through music, singing and teaching through the years.  

She attended many churches throughout her life. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Superior for twelve years.  More recently, she attended Twin Ports Baptist Church.

Mary loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, at 11:00 at Twin Ports Baptist Church, 208 52nd Avenue East, Superior.
