Obituary of Jerome Witt
Jerome “Jerry” Witt
Age 90 of Bloomington, MN passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020.
Jerry was a one-of-a kind great guy. He had a kind heart and soul, beautiful smile and easily made friends with people of all ages. He had an amazing attitude and made it through some really tough times because he never ever gave up. Jerry was so beloved by his family and many friends. His daughters are eternally grateful to have shared our lives with such a wonderful man. He was a perfect example of a life well lived.
Jerry spent many years at the MN Masonic Home volunteering and helping residents with many activities. This brought such purpose and joy in his life. He loved going to the lake place in the summer where he would spend hours outdoors working in the yard and in his sheds. He always took time to have a cold beer after the work was done. He enjoyed a good fish fry and playing poker with the guys. He also enjoyed trying his luck at the casino.
Jerry was employed at Sears Roebuck in Minneapolis, MN retiring after 30 years of service.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his daughters Yvonne, Carol (Rick), Joann (Jim), his grandchildren Laila and Beaudy and his special friend Kjersten. He is preceded in death by his wife Charlotte and his devoted partner Rita Yohn.
Our hearts are broken and our grief unbearable at the loss of this incredible man. It will be difficult for us to go on without you Dad as you were such a huge part of our lives.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date at the MN Masonic Home and at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.
Our family will be forever grateful for the love and outstanding care Jerry received from the staff at the MN Masonic Home in Bloomington.
