Harald Edward Huglen

Harald was born in Montevideo Minnesota in 1943.  His parents later moved the family to Minneapolis where he graduated from Central High School in 1962.

He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Benson McCammon and had 3 children.  Living in Minneapolis and Bloomington Minnesota, and eventually settling in Apple Valley, Minnesota.

Harald had a career he loved; selling real estate for over 40 years.  He had an enormous heart and made sure he did all he could to help those in need.

Known to many as "The Big Hugger"; he was always there with open arms for anyone that needed or wanted a warm and comforting hug.

Loved by so many and adored by his family, Harald will truly be missed. 

Harald's faith was unwavering.  His love of Jesus Christ got him going every morning in his daily devotionals and kept him going through anything and everything he encountered.  Knowing he is at home with his Lord and Savior now is what brings his family and loved ones peace.

Harald was always proud of the fact that he was 100% Norwegian and loved his Norwegian heritage.  It was so very important to him. 

After visiting Norway many years ago, it really sparked a stronger love for all things Norwegian.  And he was sure to let everyone know that he WAS Norwegian.  And if you weren't Norwegian, he would find a way to connect you to Norway.

He spent 20 years singing in the Norwegian Glee Club of Minneapolis.  He also volunteered his time with the Lions Club.  He loved old cars, old music, and old friends.

Harald passed unexpectedly on the morning of January 27th at his home in Apple Valley.

He is preceded in death by his Father Harold Huglen and his Mother Edna (Lageson) Huglen.

Harald is survived by his children Tim (Barbara) Huglen, Tom (Tracy) Huglen, and Tonya (Mark) Dallenbach.  Grandchildren Jake (Jessica) Huglen, Jordan Huglen, Joshua Huglen, Paige Huglen, Elliot Huglen, Devon Dallenbach, Taylor Dallenbach, Declan Dallenbach, Dax Dallenbach, and Dylan Dallenbach.  His sister Mary Hammang, niece Nicole (Dan) Smith and nephew Jason (Lindsay) Phillips. As well as many loving cousins.   Last but not least; by his devoted partner Darlene Ewald.

The celebration of Harald's life will be held Tuesday, February 4th at Hosanna Lutheran Church 9600 163rd Street W, Lakeville, MN.  Visitation 1:00pm, Service 2:00pm.
