Obituary of Rae Ann Kallberg

Rae Ann (Gordon) Kallberg, of Hermantown, passed from this life to the next to be with the Lord as a born-again Christian on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

Rae Ann was born in Duluth on February 4, 1939 to Reynold and Helen Gordon. She was a member of the Duluth Central class of 1957. She married Duane Kallberg on March 23, 1957.

Rae Ann lived much of her life in service to others as she diligently cared for her children, her husband and her home. She devoted much of her time to homemaking, as well as sewing and crafting. She enjoyed shopping, spending time going out to eat with her friends, and was a long time and valued member of Christian Women’s Club. For many years Rae Ann coordinated multiple shopping and entertainment centered bus trips with up to 50 different women who all enjoyed the interesting adventures she organized. She brought them to places like dinner theaters, musicals, bargain discount stores and the Mall of America during its beginning years. Rae Ann was a very talented cook, preparing numerous, delicious meals over the years. She also was a gifted baker; baking and decorating many delightful cakes of various kinds, even wedding cakes for her daughter and son.

Rae Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Duane.

She is survived by her loving children: Glenn Kallberg, Lynn (Dennis) Czapinski, Karl Kallberg and Roy (Kathryn) Kallberg. Her seven grandchildren: Jenna (Jasson) Bauer, Kara Czapinski, Jake, Wesley, Leo, Claire and Maxwell Kallberg, one great-grandchild; Jonathan Bauer; brother Terry Gordon; and the extended Kallberg family.

There will be a private burial service at the Hermantown City Cemetery followed by a public celebration of life at Emmanuel Baptist Church located at 1505 Eklund Ave., Duluth, MN on Friday, January 31st at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the beginning of the service at 1:00 pm where family and friends are welcome to attend.
