Obituary of Dolores R. O'Connell

Dolores R. O’Connell born on October 24, 1934, a lifelong resident of Duluth, MN died on January 15, 2020 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. Dolores was married to Francis B. O’Connell Sr., and born to Floyd and Mary Kettner who all preceded her in death.

Dolores worked at the Medical Arts Pharmacy for 20 years. She and her husband, Francis, owned and operated O’Connell’s Green House in Gary New Duluth for over 20 years.

Dolores loved her family deeply. She enjoyed watching the wildlife walking through her yard and feeding the birds, humming birds and those darn squirrels.

In addition to her parents, and husband, her sister Elizabeth Radulovich and her brother Floyd Kettner preceded Dolores in death. She is survived by her sister Helen Olson, her brother Ben (Marlene) Kettner and children, Teresa (Jim) Robinson of Colorado Springs, CO, Francis O’Connell, Jr. of Duluth and Mitchell (Donna) O’Connell, Sr. of Esko; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family is greatly appreciative for the loving care Dolores received from the nurses and staff at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be held at St Elizabeth’s Catholic Church on 10:00 am, Thursday, January 23, 2020. Deacon Thomas Kubat will be the officiating clergy. Rosary will be followed by a Memorial Service of Christian burial. There will not be a viewing. The Cremation Society of Minnesota, Duluth, is handling arrangements.
