Obituary of David D. Beadle

David D. Beadle (Coach) passed away peacefully surrounded by family in his home in Hermantown on January 14th, 2020 at the age of 83. He was born December 20, 1936 to Reverend Daniel and Helen Beadle in Glenwood, Minnesota. David was a passionate educator and football coach. He began his career in 1959 in Clover Valley before moving to AlBrook High School in 1960 where he taught Industrial Arts and Physical Education until 1996 and where he continued coaching until the year 2000. He was one of the area’s most successful coaches, amassing over 200 wins in 40 years of coaching and bringing AlBrook to the State Title game two times. He was selected to coach in the Outstate All Star game in 2000. More importantly, he was a beloved mentor and role model to his players. He took pride in all of his students on and off the field. David was also an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and taking care of his woodland property. He took joy in sharing his love of the outdoors with his family and friends. David is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Helen Beadle; his brother, Philip; and daughter, Carolyn. He is survived by his son, Phil (Stephanie) Beadle; his step-grandson, Aaron Matten; beloved granddaughter, Eve; partner in life, Mary Jo Bonifaci; his sister, Jean (Chuck) Otto; niece, Beth Penzenstadler; nephew, Tim Otto; and special friends; Paul (Jan) Morris and their daughters, Andrea, Ariel and Laurel; as well as his furry companion, Lady.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service, Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Hope United Methodist Church, 301 St. Marie St, in Duluth. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Minnesota.
