Obituary of Dean H. Nelson

Dean H. Nelson, 93, was born in Duluth to Hjalmer and Ruth (Lofald) Nelson on May 5, 1926. He passed away peacefully on Sunday January 12, 2020 at Keystone Bluffs. He attended Denfeld High School, then joined the Army Airforce during World War II as an airplane mechanic, serving in Germany. Dean Married Olive F. Stocke May 12, 1949 and they spent 70 wonderful years together and raised 3 children.

Dean enjoyed golf, bowling and traveling. He worked for Walker Jamar for over 40 years.

Dean was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Terri and his sister Dorothy. Dean is survived by his wife Olive; children, Linda Nelson of St. Louis Park, and Randy (Karen) Nelson of Duluth; three grandchildren Adam Nelson, James (Anne) Bremer and Eric (Rose) Bremer; and 6 great grandchildren, Dawson and Drew, Grace and Henry, Kayden and Jasper.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Keystone Bluffs. Dean will be sadly missed by all.

A Celebration of life, with Military Honors, will be held at the American Legion, 5814 Grand Avenue on Tuesday, January 21st at 11:00 - 1:00.
