Obituary of Lone J. Cooke

Lone J. Cooke, of Duluth, passed away peacefully in her home, Thursday, January 9, 2020.

Lone was born July 31, 1935 in Plummer, MN. On March 6, 1954 she married David Cooke.

Her love of growing things was evident in the beautiful flowers in her yard. Lone was a lifetime member of the Normanna Garden Club, a Master Gardener and a member of the Minnesota Rose Society. She was also a longtime member of French River Lutheran Church.

Lone was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Sironen; and great-granddaughter, Gracie.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, David; children, LuAnn (Roger) Thiry, Sheri (Tom) Gray and David (Brenda) Cooke; grandson, Aaron (Rachael) Gray; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, Austin and Harper; her brother, Larry (Sandy) Sironen; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann “Skipper” Sironen.

Memorials may be made to W.E.L.C.A. of French River Lutheran Church or the Normanna Garden Club.

Gathering of family and friends from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Jan. 18th at French River Lutheran Church, 5310 Ryan Road, Duluth. Inurnment will take place in Normanna Cemetery at a later date.
