Obituary of Marilyn Marie Poirier

Marilyn Marie Poirier, died peacefully in her sleep, in Duluth MN, January 8, 2020.

She was born July 21, 1949, in Duluth and was a 1967 graduate of Duluth East High School.

Marilyn worked in administration and Human Resources at St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth and later she also enjoyed working at Curves.

Marilyn and David enjoyed traveling, and taking long drives, including trips to the Iron Range to procure favorite ethnic foods . They also enjoyed visiting supper clubs, and spending time at their condo on the shores of Lake Superior.

Marilyn and her mother also sold her mother’s handiwork at craft sales at Holy Rosary and other places for many years. She and her mother traveled to Europe and Israel and many other exciting places and shared many amazing memories.

In their retirement years, Marilyn and David enjoyed going to craft fairs and church suppers and frequently shared their wonderful finds with others. She loved simplicity and beautiful things. Her generosity will certainly be remembered .

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emma Ranniker and brother, David Ranniker

Surviving Marilyn is her husband of 30 years, David C. Poirier; her sweet, adopted dog, Oliver; and many extended family and friends

Celebration of life will be held at G.B. Schneiders and Co., 4602 Grand Ave. Sat. January 18th from 1-3pm.
