Obituary of Gertrude (Trudy) Elizabeth Esselstrom

Gertrude (Trudy) Elizabeth Esselstrom, 92, died Dec. 25, 2019, at Harmony House Assisted Living, Superior, WI. She was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Brimson, MN, daughter of Hjalmer & Selma Hellman. She married Paul W. Esselstrom, June 20, 1952, and they lived in the Town of Lakeside, WI. Gert was an avid gardener, enjoyed berry picking, and loved swimming in Lake Superior. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul; brothers Arnold and Hugo Hellman; sisters Miriam Berglund and Helmi Ruana.  She is survived by sons, Douglas (Kimberlee) and Daniel (Kristine); sister Rosemary DePompa; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 At Gert’s request, there will be no service.  Cremation Society of MN is assisting the family.
