Tyler Jackman

Obituary of Tyler William Jackman

On Monday December 23rd 2019, Tyler William Jackman lost a long battle with addiction.

Tyler was born on January 13th 1992 in Kansas City, MO. He would have been 28 years old next month.

Tyler had a complex mind; a level of intelligence which others envied. He loved sports with his favorites being basketball and football. Tyler especially loved the Minnesota Vikings. Tyler had an eye for adventure his whole life. He loved speed in any form, be it riding roller coasters, his motorcycles, speedboats… He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed agate hunting. He loved cooking, and he loved candy. Family was important to him; he was a total mama’s boy. He loved children, especially his niece and nephew. Tyler loved to joke around and make people laugh and smile. He was a warm and loving presence.

Although he lost his life to drugs, we don’t want this to be how he was remembered. He fought the demons for so long and the pain was too much for him to bear any longer. We find peace in knowing that he is no longer suffering.

Tyler is preceded in death by his uncle Peter, his uncle William “Billy” whom he was named after, Great Grandpa Bruce, Great Grandma Benson, Great Grandma Helen. He is survived by his parents Anneka and Jon Kastelic, sister Ashley Benson, step brother Michael Kastelic, uncle Jess, niece Ava Benson, nephew Weston Benson, Grandparents Molly and Cal Benson, his beloved kitty Nikki, many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

We invite those who loved Tyler to remember him with us on Tuesday December 31st at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth. Visitation will be at 2 pm, service at 3 pm.
