Jean Marie Swingley

Swingley (Stevens), Jean Marie, age 60 of Plymouth, passed away on Friday December 20, at Wealshire of Medina after a full day of loving and goodbyes from her family and friends.

Born May 16, 1959 in Minneapolis, raised in Golden Valley and Wayzata, MN.  graduated from Benilde-St. Margret’s High School and University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Jean was a longtime Educational Assistant for Minneapolis Public Schools where her lifetime desire to be of help to kids was fulfilled. 

Jean touched the lives of many people with her quick big smile, sparkling brown eyes and generosity for others, she loved animals especially her cats, reading romance novels, classic rock music, gardening, the great outdoors, hiking, biking, 4-wheeling, and her favorite activity was entertaining her family and friends at her Medicine Lake home with boat rides, fishing, food and laughter.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Chris; parents, Claude & Rita Stevens; sisters, Julie Ballweber (John), Lisa Stevens; brother, John Stevens (Heather); many nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am Friday, January 3rd at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community, 155 County Rd 24, Wayzata, MN 55391 with visitation at church 1 hour prior to Mass. Private interment at Becker Cemetery

Special thanks to the many organizations and their committed staff members and individuals that helped Jean navigate her journey of early onset Alzheimer’s disease which allowed her to remain in the comfort of her own home for so many years, without your help this never would have been possible.
