Obituary of John Paul Cerra
John Paul Cerra passed away on November 20th, 2019, of pulmonary fibrosis in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. John was sixty five years old. He was a beloved brother, father, husband, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Christiane, their daughter Alicia, son-in-law Tristan, and grandson Rhaegar, as well as John’s sisters, Marilyn Miley and Joan Ross. John was an independent thinker and a compassionate person. In his youth, he spent time living in Norway and Germany and later enjoyed traveling throughout Eastern Europe and Italy. He settled down in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife and daughter, and spent many years working as a direct caregiver for developmentally delayed adults. John loved long walks by the lake with his dog, Toby, writing short stories, essays, and plays, and above all, spending time with his grandson. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. The Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, January 18th 2020 at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 3900 Winnetka Ave N, New Hope from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
