Harry and my dad were good friends and flying buddies, particularly during Harry's early years in aviation. As a kid, I recall Harry squeezing his tall, 6' 7" frame into a Taylor Craft. One day, he mentioned to dad that he could extend his leg out the door during the landing roll out and put his foot on a wheel, acting as a sort of brake! All in jest, I'm sure, but still funny.
After Harry advanced to the commercial airlines, he would occasionally stop by dad's TV store and regale us with captivating stories of his airline experiences. My dad, brother and I really looked up to Harry, and I'm not talking about his height. Harry was a pilot's pilot.
