Obituary of Tom Sweningson

Tom Sweningson, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 5, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jonell and Carmen.  Survived by his wife and soulmate of 55 years, Lynn; cherished daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Aspelund.  Tom lived his life by the Golden Rule and with Golden Retrievers.  He will forever be continuing his Saturday morning coffees and “straightening out the world.”  Tom treasured his friends, and the majority of them were along for the ride with him for up to four, five, six, and seven decades. 

Since Tom was “larger than life,” there will be two Celebrations: 

November 19, 2019 Service 1 PM at Crosslake Lutheran Church, 35960 County Road 66, Crosslake, MN 56442 with a Visitation at 12:30 PM and Luncheon to follow.

November 22, 2019 Service 6 PM at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave S, Edina, MN 55435 with Visitation at 5 PM with Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s name to either Shriners Hospital for Children or Wounded Warrior Project.
