Obituary of MaryAnn Kurtovich

MaryAnn Kurtovich, age 89, of Duluth, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 at Golden Oaks in Proctor. She was born June 6, 1930, the daughter of August and Rose (Wamser) Furtman. MaryAnn married Michael M. Kurtovich on Feb 12, 1954. Together they had 6 children, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

MaryAnn was a lifelong Duluth resident and attended Duluth Central High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, roller skating, reading books about Hollywood actors, playing bingo at McDonalds, senior centers, and the American Legion, but she enjoyed spending time with her family and her cats most of all. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mike Kurtovich, sons Gregory Kurtovich and Richard Marshall, her siblings, George, Jim, Ralph, Don and Roselyn, and her cats, Tiger, Myrtle, Sarah, and Tuffy. She is survived by five children, Barbara (Peter) Moe, Louise (David) Ojanen, Michael P. Kurtovich, Mark (Juvy) Kurtovich, Debra (James) Ronding, grandchildren Dan, Derek, Erik, Kevin, Kristin, Rachael, RJ, TJ, and Tom, and great grandchildren, Abbi, Lucy, Mia, and Thea. The family would like to thank Golden Oaks of Proctor and St Croix Hospice for the wonderful care given to MaryAnn.

Visitation will be Friday, November 15, 2019 at The Cremation Society of MN from 9:00-10:00 AM with service immediately following.
