Obituary of Thomas Dale Swan
Thomas Dale Swan passed away in Princeton, MN on November 1, 2019
Tom was born August 16, 1926 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His family moved to Minnesota when he was 7. He went to school at 33 South. Tom served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 19, 1945 - Nov. 24, 1946 and was stationed in the Philippines during World War II. After his service, he worked for Hoak and IO Teigen Construction for 10 years. He then farmed in Glendorado from 1957-1990. He married Darlene Arthur on November 1st, 1958. Tom enjoyed farming for most of his life. He also enjoyed bowling. He competed on a bowling team with his friends for over 45 years and he is a member of the MN Bowling Hall of Fame. Tom is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Tom is survived by his wife, Darlene; and his children, Dale (Lynda) Swan of Middlebury Center, PA; Pamela Pettit (Mic) of Spring Lake Park, MN; Lynn (Dave) Hackler of Foley, MN; and Dean (Theressa) Swan of Rogers, MN. Seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Julia, siblings Alton, Verland, Fern and Iola and grandsons Dale Swan, Jr. and Ben Swan.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 14th at 2pm at the Glendorado Lutheran Church.
