Catherine A. (Filburn) Popehn

Age 71, of Brooklyn Park, a 1966 graduate of Minnetonka High School,  passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2019 surrounded by her family. Our dear wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed with the sun shining brightly on her. We all know how much she loved the sun. She is preceded in death by parents, Richard and Annabelle Filburn. She will be missed by her beloved husband of 50 years, Tom; children, Angie (Greg) Laurent, Chris (Cassie), Paul (Deborah), Andy (Laura); surrogate daughter, Andrea; siblings, Mike Filburn, Mary Tuomisto, Tim Filburn; grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Brian, Jessica, Brianna, Caleb, Ayden, Emma, Mary, and Jacob; great-grandson, Sam and many friends and extended family. She had a great love of Mazatlan, Mexico and visited for over 29 years. She embraced the culture and made many lifelong relationships with people from the USA, Canada, and Mexico. There are no words to describe how truly missed she will be. She’s looking down on all of us, loving us all. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 11^th from 11AM-3PM at Brooklyn Park Community Center, 5600 85th Ave N, Brooklyn Park with visitation at 11AM, service at 12PM, and lunch to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to Gilda’s Club Twin Cities or Park Nicollet Hospice.
