Obituary of Ann Marie LeRette

Ann Marie LeRette, 67, of Duluth, passed away on October 29, 2019 in the arms of her children.

She was born in St. Paul on April 27, 1952 to Edmund and Joan Kopinski (née Wondra) and was the third of four children. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1970 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Welfare and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Ann earned her LICSW from the College of St. Scholastica in 1989. She worked at Northwood Children’s Services, PATH (Professional Association of Treatment Homes), and as a Guardian Ad Litem Manager for the Sixth Judicial District. Ann was a champion of children and devoted her career to child advocacy, particularly children in foster care and children in need of protective services.

Ann loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time kayaking, boating, fishing, camping, and hiking with her family. She adored her three daughters. Her unending kindness, gentle heart, and enchanting smile brought joy to everyone she met. Smart, stylish, and beautiful in life, Ann is now radiantly beautiful in heaven.

Ann is preceded in death by her father, Edmund Anton Kopinski, her mother, Joan Catherine Wondra, her brother, Edmund “Mando” Kopinski, her brother Joseph “Moose” “Peppy” Kopinski, and her beloved sister and best friend, Joan Cosentino. She is survived by her daughters Rachael, Mikayla, and Allison LeRette and their father Martin D. LeRette.

Visitation, Mass, and Luncheon on Monday, November 25th at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 1410 Baxter Ave, Superior, WI 54880. Visitation begins at 10AM, Mass at 11AM, Luncheon at 12PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to organizations supporting children in need would be appreciated.
