Jensen, Jane E.

Age 98 of Richfield passed away Sept. 6, 2019. Born in Hudson, WI on March 29, 1921. Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Neil B. Jensen, and her cat, Missy. She will be greatly missed by her family; Michael (Jo Annice) Jensen, Craig (Chris) Jensen, Sally Jensen Dutcher, Andrea Jensen and Jennifer Jensen, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Jane had a voice that could fill an auditorium. She performed with the St. Paul Civic Opera for 35 years, as well as a soloist on KSTP's "Twilight Memories" program and Schieks' in the early 40's. During WWII, she worked for Civil Aeronautics, stationed in Indianapolis, Detroit and Cincinnati. Jane and Neil were married in Bayport, MN on July 2nd, 1949. They settled in Richfield and while raising five children, continued her vocal career on stage as well as teaching voice lessons. Jane was an active member of Thursday Musical, MFMC, SAI, DAR, Eastern Star and Tuesday Music Club. With family and friends she traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe. Thank you to NC Little Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. A celebration of Jane's life will be held on Nov. 9, 2019 at The Saint Paul Hotel, 1-4pm. Memorial donations may be offered to the MFMC - Jane E. Jensen Vocal Music Award.
