Obituary of Donald Joseph Morin

Don was born on May 2nd, 1934 in International Falls, MN to Martin and Jenny. He later moved to the Twin Cities, spent some time in Oregon and most recently was a resident of Robbinsdale, MN. Don was a husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was well loved by his family, friends and co-workers. He was always on the go, even hitting the casino just weeks before his passing. He could not sit still and always had to be fiddling with something. Don worked as head of maintenance for Extendicare (Trevilla of Robbinsdale, Golden Valley & New Brighton, Texas Terrace, Park, Rose of Sharon) and North St. Paul Transitional. Most of his years spent at Trevilla of Robbinsdale where he met his wife Denise. He passed down his handyman skills to his children and grandchildren. Always teaching them how to do their own home and car repairs from a very young age. He always had a tool in hand or very nearby. Don also loved to hunt and fish with his family. He would take his children and grandchildren to the shack in the falls to hunt. And to the cabin on Briggs to fish. He spent countless hours untangling lines, playing poker, telling jokes and teaching the younger generation. What happens at the shack stays at the shack!! His children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews lived for this time together. Don was one of 9 siblings. His younger brothers recall him driving fast cars and always playing tricks on them like a good big brother would. Don passed away on October 25th, 2019 peacefully at home with Denise. Just the way he wanted it to be. Don is preceded in death by his first wife Nola, second wife Carol, son Larry and infant daughter Brenda. Survived by wife Denise, children Connie, Shawn (Mona), Tracey (Brad) and stepdaughter Jean. As well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Services will be held at Robbinsdale Parkway United Church of Christ, 4200 Lake Rd, Robbinsdale, MN 55422. Visitation is Saturday November 2nd from 1-2 pm, service begins at 2 pm.
