Obituary of James Edward Ericson

Mr. James Edward "Jim" Ericson, son of the late Frank Cash Ericson and Lena Frances Zanna Ericson, was born May 24th, 1943 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.  Jim attended the public schools of Itasca County, graduating from Greenway High School in 1961.  After high school Jim obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and went on to obtain multiple masters degrees in business.  Upon his graduation from UMD, Jim became a disc jockey at a local Duluth radio station and once introduced the Beach Boys at a local Duluth concert.  After his stint as a disc jockey, Jim joined the Air Force and served with distinction attaining the rank of Captain.  Jim married Vicky Ann Rizzolo in September of 1982, and this union was blessed with four children. 

Jim was an avid golfer and reader.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching sports.  Jim especially enjoyed following his younger sons' hockey careers in the Orono Youth Hockey Program.  Sadly, Jim lost his hard fought battle with cancer on October 25th, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his father Frank and his mother Lena.  He is, and always will be, remembered by his loving wife Vicky, his four children, James Jr. (Kayla),Kaitlin (Stephen Wiggen), Zachary (Sarah), and Kellan. He will also be remembered by his five amazing grandchildren Carter, Bentley, Abel, Evelyn, and Colt.
