Obituary of William A. Hagensen

Bill passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday October 23, 2019.

He was born March 27, 1953 in Duluth, MN to Andrew and R. Marge Hagensen. Bill attended Denfeld High School and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He owned his own business as a Certified Public Accountant.

“Hag” will be remembered as a good friend and had many groups that were important to him, including the Denfeld class of ’71 guys, Ridgeview Country Club, Normans, Bergey’s, and many more.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of entertaining and music, and his love and pride for his daughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by daughters, Amy (Nathan) Herfindahl of Annandale, MN; Julia Anding (Andrew Merritt) of Superior, WI; grandchildren Bella, Dewey, and Aleyna Herfindahl; and Quinn and Connor Anding; sister Bess Ann Makowsky; nieces Lori Horton and Jodi DeBiaso; and the mother of his daughters, Donna Hagensen.

The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Essentia ER and MICU. Especially RNs Katie, Whitney K., and Amanda, Dr. Gratia Pitcher, MD, Durae Pfeffer APRN, CNP, Dr. Jose Gomez, MD, and Dr. Susan Streitz, MD. Your compassionate care will always be remembered.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, followed by a funeral at 11AM, Friday November 1, 2019 at Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Avenue Duluth, MN 55807. A reception will follow the service at Bergey’s 2232 W Superior Street Duluth, MN 55806.

Arrangements by Cremation Society of Minnesota.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
