Rosalee Marie (Dungan) Dwyer Obituary
Rosalee Marie (Dungan) Dwyer, 93, passed away on October 21, 2019. A life-long resident of the Twin Cities area. Rosalee was preceded in death by husband, Donald R Dwyer; parents, Hugh & Ida (Gould) Dungan; siblings, Audrey (Dungan) & Raymond Hoag, Hugh Jr (Bud) & Jane Dungan, Harold & Irene Dungan, Winston Dungan, and Lola (Dungan) & Frank Bertheau; grandson, Joseph Lyke, and nephews, Douglas Hoag, Thomas Dungan, and Johnathon Dungan.
Rosalee is survived by son, James Dwyer; daughter, Kitty Von Anderson; special life-long friend, Bill Crosley; grandchildren, Naomi, Ben, Elyzia, Patrick, Patricia, Steven, Donald, Jeffery, Daniel, Angela, Kevin, and Lauren; 13 great-grandchildren, and 11 nephews and nieces, including Kevin Dungan.
Early on Rosalee worked as a bank teller and as a cost accountant at Honeywell as well as other local manufacturers. She was a devoted wife and mother; volunteering with many school and extracurricular activities with her children. She also took advantage of many volunteer opportunities in the communities in which she lived, particularly during elections. As Rosalee’s family grew with grandchildren, she became very active in their lives and school activities. Her devotion to her 13 grandchildren continued with her time and resources throughout their childhood and into their adult life.
Rosalee believed strongly in her family and continuous learning. She took several adult classes to continue her knowledge of history and philosophy. Through classes, practice, and experience, she pursued her passion of art through painting (water colors and oils) as well as photography. Many of her exceptional paintings which decorated her home were created from images of many of her travel adventures.
Rosalee’s favorite hobby was traveling. She and Don enjoyed many vacations in the States and abroad, often with special friends. After Don’s death in 1988, Rosalee was fortunate to reconnect with Bill Crosley, a former high school classmate. Rosalee and Bill also enjoyed traveling, visiting all areas of the United States and over 50 countries.
Please join us in celebrating Rosalee’s life on Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 pm at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave South, Edina, MN where a memorial service and reception will be held. Rosalee will subsequently be interred with Donald Dwyer at Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred to the donor’s favorite charity.
