Obituary of Roe Ann Forbes

Forbes, Roe Ann

Age 95, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2019 at Vernon Terrace Memory Care Center in Edina, MN. She was born August 20, 1924 in Watertown, SD to Henry Neverman II and Marie Antoinette Neverman. Roe Ann was raised in rural La Moure, ND and attended Macalester College, St. Paul, MN.

On July 23, 1945, she married her high school sweetheart, Calvin Forbes. They had 54 years of wonderful, happy married life until he passed in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Henry Neverman III.

She is survived by two sons: Kingsley Forbes (Sharyn) of Wausau, WI and Scott Forbes (Victoria) of Edina, MN. Grandchildren include: William Forbes (Tricia) of Wausau, WI, Bryan Forbes (Jennifer) of La Grange, IL, Jeffrey Forbes of St. Paul, MN and Emily Forbes (Luke) of Antwerp, Belgium. Great grandchildren are Morgan Forbes and Ethan Forbes of Wausau, WI, Andrew Forbes of La Grange, IL and Hazel Fier of Antwerp, Belgium.

Roe Ann loved spending time at their family lake home with family and friends where she tried to never miss a sunset. She was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, Minneapolis, and was a member of the Alter Guild., She loved playing cards, especially bridge and was in many groups and clubs over the years. She enjoyed snow skiing, orchestra concerts, golf, gourmet and antique clubs.

A family only memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Cathedral, Minneapolis, and her remains placed with Calvin in the columbarium at the Cathedral.
