Obituary of Maxine J. Belina

Maxine J. Belina, 77, of Fairhope, Alabama, formerly of Burnsville, MN, died peacefully on October 3, 2019, at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope. Born January 29, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, she is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marcela (Haas) McConville of Minneapolis, MN, her husband of 50 years, John “Jack” Belina of Burnsville, MN and her brothers Richard, Victor and Donald Ahlberg.

Maxine was a homemaker and traveled with Jack and their family to California, Texas, Okinawa, Minnesota, and Alabama during his Air Force career, eventually settling back home in Minnesota. After Jack passed, Maxine moved to Fairhope as she and Jack had planned. She enjoyed visiting Minnesota often and touring Europe with friends.

While stationed in Montgomery, AL in the 1980’s, Maxine and Jack opened an art gallery, and Maxine continued her interests and career in the art world over decades in the Twin Cities.

Survivors include her four children: Judith Lund, Thomas Belina (Karen), Scott Belina (Kelly) and Susanna Belina; grandchildren Jonathan, Katherine, Clay, Thomas and Mari Belina and Alex Lund; and siblings Elizabeth Lutton and Derrill Macho.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. South, Edina MN 55435. Visitation at 10 AM, service at 10:30 with light refreshments following. The family wishes to thank the staff at Thomas Hospital those who extended emotional support to Maxine during her final days.
