Jonak, Theodore Steven

April 20, 1929-Sept 27, 2019 Born in NE Mpls and attended Holy Cross Schools, Edison HS, and Dunwoody Institute. After dropping out of HS he joined the Army and was deployed to Germany. He recently recalled the experience of his duty of guarding against the violent actions of recently discharged Nazi/SS soldiers with his Thompson submachine gun...at 17 years of age. Married Darlene Taylor in 1953 and raised four sons. He started and partnered in the creation of Boring Machine & Tool, Go-Four Grinding, Go-Four Excavating, Industrial Steel, TNT Machine, and Competition Steel. He learned to program and operate the first CNC machine- The Milwaukee Matic. Everyone knew he was happiest learning and working on machines. He laughed at the concept of child labor laws and his sons learned the lessons of hard work and independence from him (whether they liked it or not)! He also made the most of all the gifts God blessed him with. His eventual reliance on the grace and mercy provided by his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, reflects the wisdom he acquired over a long & challenging life. Proceeded in death by wife Darlene, mother and father Angeline and Stanley, sons Steve and Tony, Grandson Chad, brothers Edward and Steven, sisters Lucy and Genevieve (Inky), and many beloved four legged pals. Survived by sons Douglas (Lydia) and Edward, daughter-in-law Brenda, grandchildren: Jenelle, Steven, Amy, Taylor, Sarah, Cassandra, and Toni; great-grandchildren: Zachary, Michael, Clementine, Rowan, Anthony, Jayce, Logan, and many nieces and nephews.
