Obituary of Doris "Dorie" L. Perich
Doris “Dorie” L. Perich, 88, of Duluth passed away in hospice, at St. Luke’s Hospital, after a long struggle with cancer.
Dorie was born December 10, 1930, to Daniel and Catherine Perich. She grew up in Duluth and was a 1948 graduate of Morgan Park High School.
Dorie worked at Western Electric and the Grand Avenue Market, which was owned by her brother, George. Dorie loved her time spent playing cards, reading and gardening, and was an avid golfer and bowler. Her bowling team won the State Championship one year and they also participated in the National Bowling Championship in Spain.
Dorie’s life and her kindness were a gift to all who knew her. She was always supportive and loving to family and friends. She will be missed. The family would like to thank the St. Luke’s Hospice staff for their wonderful care of Dorie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Lydia Leveille, Elizabeth Huffman, Angie McGlynn, Dorothy Sweeney, George Perich and Daniel Perich.
Dorie is survived by dear friends, Marie Garofalo and Jean Patrick; sisters-in-law, Edna Perich and Terese Perich; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 7th in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Avenue in Duluth, Minnesota, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
