Obituary of Arlene Jean Antonovich

Arlene Jean Antonovich passed away on Sept. 21, 2019 in Brookston, MN. She was born on March 29, 1930 in Medina, ND to Albert Bader and Lydia Heorsch-Bader. Jean graduated from Medina High School, following which she attended Ellendale State College in Ellendale, ND, obtaining a teaching degree.

Jean married Joe Antonovich on May 3, 1952, moving to Glen Ullin, ND where they both had teaching positions. Following the birth of their children, Joe Jay, and Jeff, the family moved to Alborn, MN in 1957.

Jean was involved with Little League baseball activities, and volunteered as a voting judge for elections. She was a Gold Circle Member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of Legion Tester-Niemi Post #562 in Brookston, MN.

Jean enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards, watching sports, gardening and selling fishing bait in Alborn.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Antonovich, and sister Lenora Rau-Job. She is survived by sons; Joe Jay (Diane) Antonovich and Jeffrey (Mary) Antonovich; grandchildren, Joleen (Felipe) Navarro, and Christopher (Heather) Antonovich; great grandchildren; Ariana Navarro, Aberdeen Couturier and Lilly Jean Antonovich. Siblings; Ardella Bader of Minot, ND and Vernon Bader, Duane Rau, Cherry Rau-Moser, and Donna Rau-Dickoff, all of Medina, ND, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Virginia Touminen and the staff at the Brook Manor in Brookston for the exceptional care they provided Jean during her residence there.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Thursday, October, 10, 2019 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Sno-Devils Snowmobile Club Building, 8491 Swan Lake Road in Alborn, MN
