My Sympathy to All Family of Avis. She was a talented special lady. I knew her through Sweet Adeline’s and also City of Lakes Chorus. I also enjoyed her piano playing when she subbed for one of the Shrine bands that my husband played with. Heaven has gained another Angel of music.

Thank you family for posting pictures of Avis through the years. She was a treasured member of the City of Lakes Chorus as a member and for her many musical gifts through arrangements. Her arrangements have been sung by City of Lakes and by so many other performers. We are grateful for her life!

To Avis's Loved Ones,
I am so saddened that Avis has left this world and my life. I have wonderful memories of times with her at arrangers' seminars, long talks about barbershop music, and conversations about our faith. She was kind, a good listener, and so grateful for any kindness shown her by her siblings or anyone else. I remember, after I'd sent her a devotional booklet I'd written, her request for a few more copies that she could give to family and friends. I think this happened shortly after Cynthia's passing. I'm glad it blessed her life, as I considered her a blessing in my life.
Avis's legacy will live on through many of her wonderful arrangements that are still sung and enjoyed by choruses and quartets everywhere.
I will miss Avis, but I'm comforted that she is now with her Lord and Savior, whose love for her is vastly greater than any to be found in this life.
Praying for God's peace and comfort upon her family and all who loved her, as I did.

Avis was one of my instructors in the late 1970s when I was enrolled in the dental hygiene program at the UMN. She held us to high standards in our dental anatomy carvings and drawings and was fair and encouraging. I recall sitting together with her in the cafeteria during lunch; she loved their baked apple dumplings. Godspeed Avis and sincere condolences to all who loved her.

sixteen years ago, I found Avis, as my arranging mentor of 10 years. She soon became my beloved friend. We IM’d during Sweet Adeline’s International Competitions and shared back and forth arranging techniques and made an arrangement of O HOLY NIGHT with her input. We celebrated her birthdays and I watched her health deteriorate until her Heavenly Father called her home. I think of her often and will miss the opportunity to send her occasional recorded messages by her awesome brother, B. I love my sweet friend, Avis L. Fellows!! 271-Bq
