Diane Petersen, 80, lived a beautiful life filled with faith, family, friends, travel, and nature. She grew up in Edina, attended the University of Minnesota, and married Peter Petersen in 1960. They made their life together raising four sons and living in a number of states including Hawaii, as well as Japan.Diane joyfully gave her time to a number of volunteer activities and through those experiences met wonderful people. Some of her favorite volunteer organizations were Methodist Hospital, Como Park, the Diabetes Association, Mount Olivet Lutheran Church library, Pensacola Navy Relief, Seattle Art Museum, and Honolulu Museum of Art. Diane is survived by the love of her life, Peter M. Petersen, their sons: Kirk, Greg (Tracey), Paul, and Jon; five grandchildren: Zachary, Molly, Kayley, Sydney, and Sam; her brother, Brian Hansen (Janette); as well as nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents, Blaine and Lenore Hansen, and brother, Gary. The family wishes to thank hospice nurse Annie Watson and the N.C. Little Hospice for their compassionate care. A service for the family will be held at a later date.
