Obituary of Dorothy Marie (Blanchette) Hinnenkamp

Dorothy Marie (Blanchette) Hinnenkamp, age 91, passed away peacefully Friday, September 20, 2019 while at Golden Oaks in Proctor.

She was born August 9, 1928 in Escanaba, Michigan to Joseph and Cora Lucier.

Dorothy worked at Glove Factory in Duluth, Inferzoto’s as a part time cook-waitress and the Summer Head Start Program from 1965 to 1967 as an aide.

She belonged to the Slovian Woman’s Union Branch #33, VFW #6320 and was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jerome; a son, Scott; her parents; and brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Dennis (Dorothy), James, both of Duluth, Lois Treb of Buffalo, MN, Nancy (Martin) Santti of Duluth; Daughter-in-law Carol Hinnenkamp of Hawthorne, WI; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Oaks and Essentia Health for their wonderful care of our mom.
