Jacobson, William A., “Bill”

Passed away peacefully on September 14, 2019 at Walker Health Care Center in Minneapolis with his beloved, Cheryl, at his side. Bill was 83. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carsten and Ruby (Ash); and brothers, Robert and Thomas. He is survived by his longtime partner, Cheryl Paschke; son Robert Jacobson (Bart Cannon); daughter Christina Burk (Steve); and other family members.

Bill graduated from Washburn High School (Class of 1954) and attended the U of M School of Architecture. He worked as an architect, designing a variety of buildings including schools, home remodels and additions, apartments and businesses.

Bill was an early member of MN Rovers, through which his love of outdoor activity was fostered. His favorite MN vacation spot was Camp Van Vac on Burtnside Lake, near Ely.

He was a longtime member of Kisarit Finnish American Folk Dancers, through which he met Cheryl.

Bill’s interest in family genealogy sparked trips to visit his ancestral homes in Ireland -- Kilclooney, County Limerick; Sweden -- Etelhem, on the island of Gotland; and Norway -- Lillestrom, Åkershus County.

Memorial service: Wed. Sept. 25, 2019, 2 PM at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, with Visitation 1-hour prior; Interment following at Lakewood Cemetery.
