Obituary of Shirley Maria Tyacke

Born February 19, 1934 in Cloquet, MN to Bernice & Fritz Nelson, Shirley died peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2019.

She married Bruce Tyacke in 1950 and lived all her life in the Lakeside area of Duluth, enjoying her family, deck & gardens, researching her family tree, entertaining friends at the cabin at Lake Elora, and birding. One of her passions was to participate in the annual hawk migration count.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bruce, parents, three sisters, a brother, and in-laws. She is survived by her brother David Nelson, sisters Yvonne (Tim) Pavlich and Marilyn (Lance) Lundeen, son David (Cheryl) Tyacke, daughters Joy (Ralph) Edberg and Rhonda Berg (fiancé Dennis Severson), 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no service at Shirley’s request but instead, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Dry Dock on Midway Road - Duluth, MN on Saturday, September 28th - 2-5:00 pm.
