Obituary of Mary Lusti

Mary Ann Lusti passed away peacefully on September 2, 2019 at the age of 74, at her home in Duluth, Minnesota.

She was born to Arthur and Hilma Koski on March 12, 1945, in Cando, North Dakota. Mary Ann married Milton Lusti on December 1, 1962. They have a daughter, Karen (Doug) Peterson and a son, Duane; grandchildren, Michelle (Matt) Jensen, Morgan Absher, and Paige Lusti; great-grandchildren, Michaela and Mya Jensen.

Mary Ann enjoyed reading, puzzles, cleaning, gardening, listening to gospel music, studying her Finnish heritage, social events with her red hat society friends, going to casinos, watching all of the Minnesota sports teams, and in the past few years Facebook!

She was a member of the United Lutheran Church of Proctor and a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. #8196.

More than anything, Mary Ann loved spending time with family & friends and had a very special bond with her siblings. Her home was always open and having visitors gave her so much joy as did the time she spent on the phone with them. Mary Ann’s positive attitude will be missed.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents; brothers, Leo, George, Ray, Wilfred, Larry, and Allen and sisters, Doris, Mavis and Verna; and grandson, Matthew Woods.

She is survived by her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmer, Harold, Robert (Joannna) and sisters, Thelma, and Helen (Lester); along with many other friends and family members.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 11:00 AM at the United Lutheran Church of Proctor; 701 Third Ave, Proctor, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

A burial will be held at a later date in the Meadow Apostolic Cemetery, Menahga, MN.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America would be appreciated.
